Low Temperatures

When the temperature drops, possibly below 0°C, lubricants often stop functioning properly.

When a lubricant reaches the freezing or pour point, it can no longer flow, and ceases to do its job.

For low-temperature applications, synthetic products are recommended especially for:

  • cold-starting equipment,
  • protecting machinery,
  • allowing lubricants to be easily pumped, since they have the appropriate viscosity index.

hese are challenges faced by a variety of sectors, especially the food industry (freezing, deep-freezing, freeze-drying, cryogenics), the railway industry, aeronautics, and public works projects.
